Char Dham Uttarakhand

Char Dham of Uttarakhand is one of the major Hindu religious tourist circuits in the state of Uttarakhand. The circuit consists of four popular religious shrines devoted to Hindu gods and goddesses. These four shrines are Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Among the four, Yamontri is devoted to the goddess Yamuna and is considered the first Dham. The second Dham is Gangotri, which is devoted to the goddess Ganga. The third Dham is Kedarnath, which is also part of the 12 Jyotriling circuit of India. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shivji. The last and most popular shrine is Badrinath. The temple is dedicated to Shree Hari Narayan and is a part of Char Dham of India.

For ages, this religious circuit of Char Dham held a sacred place in the heart of Hindus. It is believed among Hindus that the visit of this auspicious circuit gives your soul liberation and salvation from earthly desires and sins. Hence, the cultural and religious significance of the Char Dham circuit is peerless.

Char Dham circuit is situated in the lap of the holy Himalayas, which results in its harsh climatic conditions. Due to the harsh climatic conditions, all four shrines are closed for the winter season. The circuit opens every year, approximately around April and May. Similarly, the circuit is closed around October and November.

Hindus acknowledge Char Dham of Uttarakhand as a ‘Tirth’ and visit it with the entire family. It is more suitable for family and group travel. This Hindu religious circuit covers approximately 1,500 km in total. The average budget category travel of Char Dham Yatra Uttarakhand ranges from INR 18,000 to INR 25,000 per person with pickup from Haridwar.
